Songs of Water

The songs of water are broad currents and carved seas

Languid sloops of aquamarines rolling through channels of ice, winding down frosted

umber crags and lapping the tired faces of rocks

Crests of sun cut waves dress the sea in a net of satin, lustrous reflections

capped in lathered foam

The songs of water are songs of glass bubbles and whispering gullies

Streams of swirling salmon and tadpoles dancing in long ravines, exhaling breaths of

veiled quartz crowned in claret

Floods of washed harmonies tuning with the curves of the current, leaving faint

impressions that shape the sloped riverbed

The songs of water are songs of onyx clouds and thunder showers

Cracked panes of falling rain glistening in the night, illuminated by flares of lightning

tinted shades of brass and iron

Tall vortices of whirling water breaking the violent surface of the lake, sapphire spires

that churn the air and shake the winds

The songs of water are songs of settling tides

From the floodgates of the sea burst iridescent mists released from pressured depths

diffusing the chrome sunset

In my cupped hands pools the elixir of life, the healing songs of water
